Front Desk Receptionist (Multi-specialty ASC)

Position Purpose

The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for covering any aspect of the business office as necessary. Many duties include scheduling, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient calls, and medical records. Successful candidate will possess outstanding multi-tasking abilities, communication, and teamwork as well as the ability to keep up in a fast-paced working environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate previous successful/positive customer service encounters.

Essential Job Duties

  • Greets patients at check-in. Answers incoming phone calls in a professional manner.
  • Verifies demographics and insurance with patient at each visit.
  • Collects copays, coinsurances, and deductibles on scheduled appointments.
  • Communicates with patient regarding wait time and status of providers.
  • Checks voicemail, returns messages and routes voicemail messages to correct recipient if needed.
  • Collects and distributes mail on a daily basis.
  • Understands and maintains adherence to HIPAA/OSHA regulations.
  • Daily preparation of the charts for future surgeries within required deadlines.
  • Preparation of medical consent for each chart prepared.
  • Labeling necessary documents and adding physician orders.

Requires Skills/Experience

  • 2+ years of hospital or medical office experience.
  • Medical records and insurance verification experience a plus!
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to use time wisely in preparing work area to meet high-paces demand.
  • Ability to promote positive relationships with patients and staff.
  • Must know insurance verification and collection processes.
  • Must demonstrate excellent phone etiquette and exceptional customer service skills.
  • Solid communication skills as interaction with patients, staff and doctors occurs daily.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
